About Danjo Denim

Why do denim jackets all look so similar? They’re nothing but rehashes of Levi’s Type II and Type III jackets. Why are denim jackets always so baggy? Why are there so few denim jackets with original designs? Why can’t I find a brand that specializes in denim jackets? Every denim brand focuses on jeans. Enough already. I’ll make them myself.

I’ve worn denim jackets since high school. Over the years, I’ve accumulated ideas for jackets I’d buy if only they existed. Now I’m bringing those ideas to life. I design them myself, select the fabric, create the patterns, cut and sew them, wear the finished product, and then make adjustments wherever they fall short—over and over again.

There are countless fashion designers, but how many of them wear denim jackets so often that they even show up to their high school graduation in one? How many denim jacket designers create their own patterns, sew their own jackets, and wear them themselves? I moved from Ibaraki Prefecture to Kojima in Kurashiki City, Okayama Prefecture, because I wanted to make the perfect denim jacket. I didn’t enter this field because I was interested in fashion; I did it because I wanted to make denim jackets. If you’re looking for an unusual denim jacket, take a look at Danjo Denim’s collection.

What Makes Danjo Denim Different

A Brand Focused on Denim Jackets

Danjo Denim is a brand that plans and produces denim jackets as its core product. Rather than sticking to conventional styles, we offer new denim jackets with carefully considered silhouettes and details.

Everything from Design to Sales

We handle almost every step ourselves, including planning, design, fabric selection, pattern making, cutting, sewing, and sales. We make fine adjustments as we go and apply what we learn to our next products.

Custom Sizes and Specifications

We offer adjustments to sleeve length, as well as changes to size, thread, and hardware. The options available vary by product, so please check each product page for details.
