About shrinkage due to washing and drying

Unwashed denim and canvas will shrink after washing and drying. The shrinkage in the horizontal direction is relatively small, but the vertical direction (sleeve length, length of denim jacket, and length of pants) may shrink by several centimeters.

Here we will use a product as an example to show how much it shrinks. We hope this will be helpful when adjusting the sleeve length or hem length.

The shrinkage rate (shrinkage rate) differs depending on the fabric. The standard denim and No. 11 canvas we use also shrink differently after washing and drying. Canvas shrinks more than denim. For example, in the case of pants, the waist size does not change much, but the length does.

As you can see in the photo below, even if you sew using the same pattern, the length will change this much after washing and drying.

At the time of the above test, there was a difference of around 7cm for all sizes.

If you have already purchased denim pants and are thinking, "The size was just right, so I'll order the canvas version in the same size," then please adjust the hem length when ordering . Specifically, please order the same size (S, M, L) but add 7cm to the hem length.
